Job Summary
We are looking for a new leader to head the Finance Department at Nurture Boss. The Director of Finance will own all aspects of accounting oversight. From tax filing compliance, to payroll, to company-wide budget management. You will be responsible for tracking business metrics across all departments to inform decision making and track the businesses progress and health. You will also provide financial modeling assistance and report generation for various use cases. We are looking for someone who is capable of handling day to day operations one moment and broader company wide initiatives in the next. This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, is highly detail oriented, and motivated to build a foundation and the processes that go with it at Nurture Boss.
Responsible For
Compliance, Finance, & Accounting
- Coordinate with external bookkeepers to produce monthly financial statements.
- Assist CEO with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Produce quarterly financial analysis for the Board.
- Manage revenue recognition, AP, and AR.
- Manage payroll and employee expenses.
- Manage account designations.
- Manage monthly customer invoicing.
- Assist with cap table record keeping and management including issuing certificates and manage Equity Incentive Plan.
- Manage product planning & pricing.
- Work with and oversee year end taxes with our tax preparer.
- Financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
- Track and manage cashflow assumptions & needs.
SaaS Data, KPIs, & Metrics
- Manual SaaS metric tracking (e.g. cohort analysis, retention, CAC, etc).
- Build, maintain, and monitor company and department success metrics and initiatives.
- Build and maintain dashboards for various KPIs and metrics across all departments.
Investor Relations/Board of Directors/Capital Raises
- Ensure quarterly progress reporting to all investors.
- Review and prepare all financial reporting to investors.
- Oversee and execute due diligence requests for potential investments.
- Facilitate data rooms, deal docs, and all sponsor activity.
- Schedule quarterly Board meetings.
- Create financial and operational slides for Board meetings.
- Manage Board meeting minutes.
- Manage budget processes and motion resolutions.
Legal/Compliance/Corporate GRC
- Manage rules, processes, procedures, and reports.
- Manage insurance such as general liability, cyber, workers comp, etc.
- Oversee audits and taxes.
- Oversee legal entity management.
- Oversee outsources general counsel (e.g. customer contract templates, contract negotiations, etc).
Qualifications/Skills
- 5+ years experience in similar roles
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Business/Accounting/Finance (or related field)
- Able to work with ambiguity.
- Enthusiastic, driven, and self-motivated team player who is comfortable working in a growing environment.
- Experience developing plans, proactively communicating and iterating with key stakeholders, and managing planning efforts effectively.
- Establish processes and procedures to create operational efficiency in a fast paced environment.
- Direct experience scaling operations or key systems in a growing, product focused organization.
- Strong interest in technology, startups, and venture capital.
- Ability to draw insights from unorganized information and help drive process improvements accordingly
- Trustworthy.
- Experience leading and building financial models.
